Collection LeRuban Rouge is an imprint of Librairie Arthème Fayard in France.

In 1948, apparently, they published the very first heavily-illustrated story book version of Edgar Allan Poe's only novel...

     "THE NARRATIVE OF ARTHUR GORDON PYM OF NANTUCKET"

By rights, with Arthur & Dick being rescued, and an entirely new set of adventures beginning, what follows should have been in a separate book.  But, what can you do?  The truth is, "AGP" feels to me like a 3-part story... one that Poe neglected to ever write the 3rd part of.

The next segment appears to have inspired multiple later writers over the decades... all of whom, I believe, had the decency to actually finish what they were writing.
