I wonder what happened that they went black and white in April 1965? Ink shortage?
ReplyDeleteFor several months before that, BOY'S LIFE had slowly been increasing the number of color pages. Mostly, more color ads. The comics were no longer always bunched together in a single group in the middle, sometimes they had loads of ads in the middle of the comics, splitting it up into 2 comics sections.
ReplyDeleteThe April 1965 issue had several comics in GREEN ink, but most were still in color. Full-color comics resumed the next issue. Maybe someone complained?
