At the time, I'd hoped they follow up with the '66 strips. STILL waiting! If they had done it, I wouldn't "have" to be doing this now.Henry R. Whoever scripted thes...Thanks for reprinting these. Whoever scripted these strips was apparently none too sure about how to emulate the tone of the absurdist TV series, and so just tried to be as antic and cornball as possible. It's my recollection that the strip stayed cornball but got somewhat better plotted within a year or so. I wouldn't mind seeing the whole strip collected. Maybe we should request it from FANTAGRAPHICS (har, har).Gene Phillipshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11495562795211277146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688020825112427314.post-76739015686871932892013-07-13T14:18:52.085-04:002013-07-13T14:18:52.085-04:00They were obviously aiming for the television show...They were obviously aiming for the television show in this strip, not so much the comic book. I see their dilemma. A couple of hundred thousand comic book readers couldn't trump a few million television viewers who couldn't care less about the comic book Batman. The main problem with this strip is the writer wasn't very funny or clever.Pappyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01977289662431694607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688020825112427314.post-55537246647463451992013-07-13T12:36:43.205-04:002013-07-13T12:36:43.205-04:00What an odd strip...it doesn't feel quite righ...What an odd strip...it doesn't feel quite right. Batman is forever correcting Robin, and Robin just hangs his head in shame. And they both miss the cat walking out...then can't figure it out and lay a trap for the escape. Somehow it feels right for the 1966 Batman TV show, but just doesn't work as a Batman/Robin comic! How long did this run?Kirk G - The Thrifty Rocketeerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15787549409999764040noreply@blogger.com
